Harrisonburg’s Sweetest Event returns for its TENTH year in action! All proceeds support Collins Center & Child Advocacy Center.

If you like chocolate and supporting local nonprofits, then this is the event for you! It has never been easier to support a cause you care about than by feasting on chocolate treats and enjoying a leisurely stroll around downtown Harrisonburg. Your participation in this event directly supports Collins Center’s mission to promote healing to all affected by sexual harm in our community.

Please join us on Friday, April 7th from 4 – 7:30pm as participating businesses and organizations in Harrisonburg’s beautiful downtown invite you in to sample the best of our local chocolatiers. Each site will offer a different type of chocolatey goodness for you to try as your enjoy a stroll around downtown. Chocolates and donuts and cookies… oh my! 😍

Some ~Sweet~ Details:

• Registration is required and will take place in the Turner Pavilion between 4:00-7:00 pm, where participants can pick up their maps and boxes to collect chocolate treats at stops along the walk.

• To avoid ticketing, please park in the Water Street parking deck as much as possible. Free parking can also be found in spaces marked by 4 and 10-hour signs.

• Additionally, please note that we offered individuals and businesses donating chocolate treats the option to give in increments of 250 or 500, to be mindful of the varying bandwidths and commitments that our local supporters have. Therefore, every chocolate stop will have as many pieces of chocolates as tickets, but the type at each stop may vary based on donations.

FAQs

Will the event happen rain or shine?

Yes! Our event will take place in any weather condition. Refunds will not be given due to weather.

I have a small child that won’t eat chocolate. Do I need to purchase a ticket for them?

No, children not old enough to participate fully do not need to have a ticket.

I just want to walk with my friends but do not plan to participate otherwise. Should I purchase a ticket?

No, it is not necessary to purchase a ticket unless you plan to collect chocolate.

Do I have to go to every host site and participate for the entire 3.5 hours?

No, you may go to as many stops as you like, in any order between 4:00 – 7:30 pm!

Can I purchase tickets at registration?

Yes, as long as supplies last you can purchase additional tickets at check-in.

Can I donate to Collins Center at registration?

Absolutely, you can! We are happy to accept donations during the event 🙂
