Premiere of “The Drive to Sing” documentary at JMU – Free admission
February 25 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Did you know that JMU Professor David Newman’s audio experiment in his driveway in 2020 led to a safe way for choral musicians across the US and Canada to sing together during the pandemic?
The Drive to Sing is a new documentary about choirs during the pandemic and the importance of making music together. It is full of beautiful choral music recorded in very unusual places. Singers find it especially meaningful.
This Saturday evening, come see the premiere of this award-winning film at JMU’s Hartman Hall in Harrisonburg, VA. Enjoy the uplifting story and meet David Newman, Benjamin Bergey (whose EMU chamber choir is also featured), and the filmmakers from Massachusetts.
The event is FREE and open to the public. After the 75-minute film is a panel discussion and reception. Please register at https://forms.office.com/r/Ha1gWmh2i8
