The Saltcoats at Pale Fire

March 17 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

The Saltcoats bring Irish tunes and classic rock to Pale Fire Brewing Co!

Max Bulinski hails from small ranching towns in big rectangular states. He grew up playing bodhran in a Celtic band, but swapped his drum for a sax through his 20’s. He left the mountain west for Columbia University and spent many years bouncing from city to city for work before landing in Charlottesville 4 years ago. He has sung on both theatrical and band stages. While in his transitory state, Max started playing the guitar to accompany himself. Forrest Burnette was born and raised in Hampton, VA and majored in music at JMU. He has played in many rock, folk and country bands in his music career, including Wisher, Sun Domingo and South River Strings. Forrest got into Irish music about 10 years ago, and played Irish tunes with a friend regularly at the Tin Whistle in Charlottesville before it closed. Max and Forrest met at Starr Hill Brewery in Crozet and talked about their interest in Americana and music of the British Isles and their desire to fuse the styles together in a group. The Saltcoats were formed to fulfill this vision, with captivating vocal harmonies featuring Max playing guitar/tin whistle, Forrest on accordion/guitar.
