Rocktown Riot!

Partnering with the local eatery Mashita @eatmashita, Kinetix proudly presents ROCKTOWN RIOT!!! A 2-day event centered around the hype and competition of breaking, as well as the local culture, dope music, and personal connections that tie it all together. We are excited to host a panel of highly acclaimed and well-regarded figureheads in the breaking and hip-hop dance scene who’ve all made an irreversible mark on their respective regions, ranging from Philly to New York, and right here in the DMV! Join us on April 1st to check out unique vendors, get down in the cyphers, and smoke the competition in 4v4 crew battles in the black box theater of JMU!
On March 31st, the day before the jam, @downtownharrisonburg is holding its recurring special event the Sip N’ Stroll from 4-8 pm, where downtown is closed to traffic, and those over 21 can purchase drinks from local businesses and are encouraged to stroll around. Kinetix will be holding a sesh and public workshop (for beginner passer-bys taught by Kinetix members) in front of Mashita during the Sip N’ Stroll!
When ROCKTOWN RIOT finishes, the official after-party RIOT AFTER DARK is happening at Mashita from 10 pm-2 am! Come to chill with Korean-inspired food, drinks, a bar, a set of free multi-cade setups with all the classic arcade games, and live DJ-ing from: DJ SUPERSOL @jameshumaker!
