Set My Spirit Free: Jazz Music

February 18 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

A special Black History Month presentation of Stories, Jazz Music and Poetry on Sunday, Feb. 18 starting at 4 p.m. in the auditorium of Eastern Mennonite School. FREE ADMISSION :: A professional jazz sextet featuring Kenny Rittenhouse, trumpet, Neal Perrine, bass, Marlon Foster, drums, Greg Moody, sax, Lew Taylor, piano and Robert Mott, trombone, will join Dr. Joanne Gabbin and Dr. Edward A. Scott for this special concert of music and spoken word. This 90-minute performance is perfect for jazz lovers of all ages and those who enjoy stories about the Black musicians and composers who created the jazz and blues music that’s been intricately woven into the fabric of American history.
This performance is supported by grants from Arts Council of the Valley, Eastern Mennonite School and Robert Mott & Associates.
